This PHTS is mounted on a towable and steerable four-wheeled trailer with pneumatic tires, self-contained, dual system, designed to check performance and operating characteristics of aircraft hydraulic systems. Each system is independently controlled and capable of delivering variable output pressure and flow in an Open and Closed Loop mode without the necessity of starting the aircraft engine. It also supports aircraft reservoir filling. The Cart is electrically driven and can operate on 460VAC, 60 Hz or 380 VAC, 50 Hz, 3-Phase. Major components include two (2) hydraulic pumps, one for each system, each driven by a 100 HP motor, a 120 gallon useable common reservoir, filters, manifolds and an integrated purification system.
There are sensors and transmitters to monitor the hydraulic fluid level, temperature, pressure and flow. These sensors provide warning and shut down if the hydraulic fluid pressure, temperature and level are not within the required operating range. The main instrument panel is a touch screen Human Machine Interface (HMI) that provides the operator with some control of the system operation and status. An emergency stop switch on the instrument panel provides complete shutdown of the system. A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) provides, control, data manipulation and communication to the HMI via an Ethernet link. The HMI provides certain essential operating controls, information for the operator and maintainer such as system pressure, system flow, fluid temperature, reservoir fluid level, etc. An interactive diagnostic display is provided to warn the operator of any condition that is outside of the normal operating parameters.
